Years ago, though how long has been forgotten, there stood the world of Britola. It was flat, it's edge surronded by mountains impossibly tall. Very few written records survive from this time, but here is what has been pieced together.
Only centuries into Britola's existence, as █████'s rays flooded the world with light, and the great █████ hung as their opposite, there were a race of what we would call merpeople, though their fellows called them the Farra. Above the waters, the early races that would become the ███████ toiled under █████'s light. Many of the Farra grew jealous. Sure, they need not worry about hard work or the great monsters of the surface, but there was little much to really do. Eventually, having gathered in the shallows of Fol, the western continent, they called out to Netalys. She answered, and so those few lost their webbing and their gills, their tails shrunk and their wings fell from their back, but they gained things of equal value. They grew legs to walk, and ears go hear the chirping of the birds and crashes of the waves, and so they ventured forth into Fol. They were called the Folads.
Yet, they were not perfect, for nothing is. Their spirits, so used to the confines of the water, began to leak from their bodies. Netalys took notice, and indivudally bound their spirits to their bodies. Centuries passed, and the Folads spread across the continent. Eventually all of Fol would come under the rule of a King, whose name is lost to time. But his actions weren't. Blaming the Folads for his country's major losses and the death of his father, he had any that were found killed. In their darkest hour, Netalys once more helped them. She sent Saint Bip1, who covered all of Fol in a fog dense enough that one could not see a all. Netalys temporarily broke the bindings holding the Folad's spirits, and directed them to the southern most point of Fol.
There, a large bridge of ice went on, unobscured by the fog, for as far as the eye could see. At the end of it, fashioned out of a great mountian, was a ship to hold each and every Folad. When all were aboard, Bip pushed the ship off the world, and into the Sea of Stars. There it sailed for an unknown time, before finally slamming into the northern edge of ████████. There, the Folads spread, eventually followed by their breathren after the end of Britolan days.
